Rutter Charity Golf Classic nets $14,000 for Delaware County United Way Campaign
MUNCIE, IN - August 22, 2007
Rutter Communications announced that their 8th annual Rutter Charity Golf Classic raised more than $14,000.00 for the Muncie/Delaware County United Way campaign drive. A portion of the proceeds was also awarded to one of the member agencies, the Muncie Boys & Girls Club.
This year's event was held on August 15th at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie. A record field of 36 teams participated in the outing.
"We are grateful to Rutter and all the players who came out to support the Charity Classic," stated Gary Chenault, President and CEO of United Way for Delaware County. "Rutter has been a great community supporter for many years and they work so hard to put this on. We're very thankful to be the recipient and appreciate their care for United Way and our 26 member agencies."
Collectively, the tournament has raised more than $75,000 since inception for United Way and other local charities. Rutter Vice President Tom Simpson had this to say about the event, "One of our core values as a company is community and we can't think of a better organization to get behind than United Way. They do so much to help people from all walks of life in our area and we're just pleased to be able to contribute to that effort."
