Rutter Employees Burn Up The Track During Employee Appreciation Day

Muncie, IN - January 5, 2004

Fastimes Indoor Karting will never be the same. Rutter Communications employees donned their racing gear and burned up the track on Monday morning for employee appreciation day. Teams of three or four competed in a two-hour Le Mans style event. Each employee raced for approximately fifteen minutes at a time. The go-carts at Fastimes could do up to 40 miles per hour.

"Once I got a feel for the track, I cut loose," said sales assistant Deb Marks. "I put the petal to the metal and never looked back." Marks' team, Evil Extreme, placed third in the competition. Second place went to the Roadblockers. Team Go Spot Go took first place.

Account Executive Walker Marsh had the fastest lap of the day at 25.924 seconds. "I would've gone faster if (company principal King Lumpkin) would've gotten out of my way," said Marsh.

The go-cart race was a way for all of the Rutter Communications employees to enjoy each other as friends. Employees were randomly selected for their teams. "I'm glad we split up for our go-cart race," said account executive Cheryl Robertson. "I was able to socialize with people outside of my department."

This was the first annual employee appreciation day at Fastimes Indoor Karting. Previous days have been spent at Indianapolis Pacer games or at Indianapolis Ice games.
